  • What instruments do you teach?

We specialise in teaching the Kanun and Piano. We also offer beginner classes for the Guitar and Oud.

  • What is the age range for students?

We accept students of all ages, from children to adults. Group classes will be targeted and appropriate to the age group.

  • What is the duration of the courses?

Our courses are designed to be flexible and adapt to the student's needs. You can choose to take weekly classes, intensive classes or follow our formal curriculum for a longer-term.

  • Do you offer online classes?

Yes, we offer online classes for students who are unable to attend in-person classes. Generally absolute beginners are discouraged from studying remotely unless there’s no other option.

  • What is the class size?

Our class size is limited to ensure that each student receives individual attention from the instructor. Presently this looks like classes of 4-8.

  • Do you offer private lessons?

Yes, we offer private lessons for students who prefer one-on-one instruction, although demand is high and places are limited. Preference is given to those who make long-term commitments.

  • What is the cost of tuition?

Group classes average $20-30/hr and private class $80-120/hr.

  • Are there any scholarships available?

We do not currently offer scholarships, but we do offer financial aid options. We do have one professional kanun available for free hire each semester thanks to a generous sponsor in the community.

  • Do you have any performance opportunities for students?

Yes, we provide regular performance opportunities for our students. You may also be given the opportunity to perform with the Three Rivers Ensemble.

  • What is the school's policy on make-up classes?

We understand that life can be unpredictable and unexpected events can happen. If a student is unable to attend a scheduled private class, they may schedule a make-up class at a mutually agreed upon time with their instructor. Theory components of group classes may be recorded at the instructors discretion and shared with students who miss the class, provided sufficient notice has been provided.
